Tin Tin Sann
a Burmese artist

Studied painting under Burmese Artist and State School of Fine Arts (Rangoon) lecturer U Lun Gywe and Dr. Sun Myint.

Started exhibiting since 1968 and have participated in more than 50 exhibitions in Burma.

One of the pioneers of young avant-garde Art movement in Burma.

One of the first Burmese Artist who creates and exhibit batik paintings in Burma (1975).

President of Rangoon University Art Society from 1972 to 1980.

Regularly exhibited at the BBC Art Society annual exhibitions in London.

During the one year visit at the Harvard University (1981-1982), had four one person exhibitions including one at the Harvard Law School where her works were displayed through out summer 1982.

Have conducted “Principles of Design” and “Batik printing” classes at the Regional College Art Society in Yangon, Myanmar and at Adult education Centre, Cambridge, Mass. USA.

Had a one person show in London in 1986 sponsored by Alliance and Leister Building Society, where Tin Tin has exhibited her Art works in oil, Chinese water colour and Batiks.

Paints mainly in oil but have studied Chinese water colour under a Chinese Artist Law San.

Create sculptures in clay, plaster and bronze.

Tin Tin’s Art work can be seen all over the world – UK, USA, Germany, France (including one at UNESCO in Paris), Nepal, Myanmar, and Australia, mostly private collections.

Enjoy painting seascapes and very much interested in colour and the free flow of colour.

Use strong colour and contrast colour to create paintings.

Tin Tin is at the moment working full time at the BBC World Service Marketing Communication department as Relationship marketing Executive and also work part time at the Burmese Section. She is the producer of Burmese Art and Culture programme.
